Ingredients You’ll Need

Apples – These Nachos can be made with any apple you fancy. Red-skinned dessert apples are lovely and sweet, but you may prefer the crisp, fresh green ones.

Lemon – Essential for keeping the apple slices from going brown, so this ingredient can’t be skipped!

Nut butter – Any nut butter could be used. Cashew, almond, and peanut go well, but you could use a seed butter instead.

Dark chocolate chips – The darker, the better. Try and choose a brand that is at least 70% cocoa, giving a much more intense taste.

Shredded coconut – Use the sweetened variety as it will give you a much better balance of flavor for this dish, plus it’s much better for you.

Cinnamon – You can omit this or use ground ginger if you wish, but it goes perfectly with apples and chocolate, the perfect pairing!

Hemp seeds – Use the hulled hemp seeds here or hemp hearts. You need to have the soft but nutty texture that these will bring. You could use another type of seed here if you like.

They are easy to grab and eat, making them a simple snack to help avoid processed foods.

A number of phytochemicals in the apple provide antioxidants to the body. These help manage free radicals, which can be responsible for chronic conditions, such as heart disease, Alzheimer’s, and diabetes.
