A delicious, creamy low carb hot chocolate treat for after shoveling, or just when you feel like it! Who says you can’t treat yourself to some chocolate every once in a while? Not me.
This past week my little neck of Rhode Island got a few feet of snow. With the snow drifts caused by wind, there were parts of the driveway we shoveled that were almost over our heads. I’m not especially tall, but that’s a lot of snow!
After the second day of snow and wind, and shoveling and then re-shoveling the snow when it blew back into place (us New Englander’s shovel every couple of hours during a storm!) I thought I deserved some damn hot chocolate! So I cooked up this little recipe, and it was lovely. It has 5 total net carbs, all from the dark chocolate chips.Get yourself some Dagoba Organic 73% Cacao Chocodrops. They’re the bomb and have only 5 net carbs for 15 large chips.

could I use any good chocolate bar with a similar cocoa percentage? do you know how many grams 1 Tbsp of these drops is equal to? I’m looking for a hot morning drink to have instead of BPC. Want to avoid coffee but can’t stand cream/butter in tea.

Can you clarify – is the almond coconut milk an ingredient you make or can you purchase it?

Cutenstuff You can purchase it (or make it I assume?)

nita seguinnot necessarily, the Dagoba brand has 5 net carbs for one tablespoon or 15 grams.

Sorry, is the milk a mix of almond and coconut milk, or is it either almond or coconut? Thanks!

Step 1 says to heat the coconut almond oil, is that supposed to be the milk? By the way I just bought your cookbook, I”m so excited to try the recipes

tolianie Whoops, yes I just fixed it, thanks! I hope you enjoy the cookbook! 🙂

Cutenstuff It’s almond milk, but the flavor is unsweetened coconut almond milk. I don’t know why, but it has less carbs. Here’s what I use:http://amzn.to/2jzk0e9

wickedstuffed Thank you, I love the recipes in the cookbook and I am really enjoying your blog, I feel for the first time I might actually be able to get my weight off and keep it off.
In the past I’ve ended up on just chicken, lettuce and broccoli until I was sick of it.
