Today, everybody in the family works and there is very little time set aside when the family just sits down to enjoy doing things together.
The above conversation was a pleasant surprise especially with the marketing pressures that are put upon our society for instant food and enjoyment. Maybe it is time again to rethink our priorities and bring that focus around a family Sunday dinner based upon food grown and processed around us.The aroma of real food cooking in an oven or stovetop certainly is preferred to that of the pizza man showing up at your door or eating snack food in a car.
It's now Winter (Corned Beef and Cabbage, Salmon, Deep Fried Chicken, Meat Loaf , Pot Roast, Turducken, Cole Slaw ) and a great time to invite friends and family over for Sunday dinner and add in a little Wine and Beer Tasting.
You know the event where you invite your friends and family to get together and chat, the kids are in the basem*nt, someone brings the drinks, you bring out the appetizers, sit back to discuss movies seen, books read, places been, past holidays and provide opinions on the local and world problems.
It could be pot luck, bring a bottle of wine, some cold beer and everyone brings a little of this and a little of that with the host supplying the friendly ambiance of course.
