Bachelor’s Buttons (Centaurea cyanus), also known as Cornflower is a delightful blue flower addition to home gardens with full sun. With a mature height of 24-36 inches and a width of 12 inches, it presents a compact yet eye-catching presence.

The true blue flowers and blue-green foliage create a soothing color palette, especially during its blooming period in summer. Blooms last for about six weeks. This plant has a faster growth rate, only 65 days from seed to bloom.

A cool thing about Bachelor’s Buttons is that the flowers are actually edible. While this flower is an annual, it will typically reseed from year to year around your garden (but not aggressively). It makes a great cut flower, attracts pollinators and is drought and deer resistant.
