Make sure you grind the parts first with 400 grid and finish with 600 grid

i use medium from zap a gap to glue the parts together

The weights per section is helpful to know if I’m achieving the overall recommended target. Thanks.

Here’s mine so far. Yes, there’s an extra seam in there. Didn’t realize until I was a day into this print it was not sliced on the build plate properly. It was level but submerged below the plate. I was using an older version of Cura and it refused to bring the part flush with the plate. Not sure if it was the file size or part dimensions but it just wouldn’t do it. Anyway, I printed the missing section separately. A little weight penalty. However, this is earmarked for forward flight only so I’m not concerned. I hadn’t upgraded Cura. I had heard stories of people having issues with the latest version. I believe if it isn’t broken don’t fix it. Well, turns out it was broken, so I’m now on the latest version.

I always pre-align my STLs in CAD for the proper orientation and placement. Since I provide STLs for others, it assures that they have the proper orientation as well. My STLs don't require rotation or placement in the slicer. I was a little out of practice setting orientation in Cura but even so the old version just wasn’t cooperating. The new Cura version worked fine.

The fact that you didn’t pre-align the STLs helps in assembling everything in CAD. Everything is already in the correct location in the world coordinate system. The downside is the extra step in slicing. It’s just a matter of preference either way.

Awesome i'm printing currently a new model with the bambulab and i will share the weight of every part from now onRc-jetprint F35 - Page 2 (3) i'm m using prusa slicer currently for the craftbots, and creality printers more easy in use and i my opnion a smarter slicer and also smart with hiding the seam.

We also made progress with the bambulab printer, we are printing with speeds up to 120mm/sec and non printing speeds of 1000mm/s. parts are printed 4 times faster. the layers are briljant, the infill lines gyroide are nicely closed and met don have strings, this because of the fast non printing movements.

Just wauw

You may want to take a look at "Tail section 1 complete - LWPLA. stl"? There is an error in the mesh just behind the ducted fan pivot hole. It shows up in CAD and Cura. The same error shows up on both sides and in the left/right versions. While it seems to be manifold and slices OK it's definitely not right.

While that gives me a good idea how to install gear door servos on a similar model, it would be much more helpful to see the installation of servos and hinges on the this F-35B.

That is no error, you use that hole for your align key to put throug to fix the vectoring nozzleRc-jetprint F35 - Page 2 (6)

I know the hole is supposed to be there. I'm talking about the misshapen notch just behind the hole.
Please read my original message: "There is an error in the mesh just behind the ducted fan pivot hole."

ah didn't know it was there, i mirrored the "Tail section 1 left"in prusa slicer, to use as right, will fix it in the files.

Hello, as written by other peoples up in the newsfeed, I am also disappointed. I have been following you on YouTube channel for a wild , and I was so exited to buy, print and fly your F35. At almost $100 the product sold as version 1 buyers are expected to be a finished product with assembly documentations and full parts and systems functional. This is for why peoples given negative feedback. For the positive side, the aircraft is look amazing with an ingenious VTOL design. It could be perfect at this price, with, documentations and all functional elements provided by the photos on your website.
Best regards and I’m still hoping to have a V1.1 finished to give a good feedback

just 2 ?!

But agree my goal is 100% happyness! Years and years people are asking for files, so i really treid to make something cool easy and cheap for you all.
If i need to sell the big composite model with all scale doors and paintings handcrafted, than i have to charge 10K. nobody wants that.

Until now most people are happy, and even 4 people are building it privatley at my place. i will make more videos about that and more photos as requested by you.

Dont forget the setup with ESC, servo's and EDF inside this 89 eur file/model is like 700eur.

Joel, maybe just change the file ending from. xls to. pdf
Anybody who wishes to read the file just has to rename the file with the correct ending...

Regards, Kuni

edit: nice you already found a solution!
